Mona Sartoveh
ABOUT

Mona is a visual storyteller, documentary photographer, and narrative artist whose work bridges photography, editorial narrative, and human-centered storytelling. Through long-term visual projects, she explores the emotional landscapes where people, memory, and lived experience intersect, creating work that invites reflection and quiet observation.
Working across documentary, editorial, and fine art photography, Sartoveh approaches image-making as a way of understanding rather than simply documenting the world.
Alongside her photographic practice, she works as a co-writer in independent cinema, where her engagement with narrative structure, rhythm, silence, and visual language continues to shape her approach to visual storytelling.
In recent years, her practice has expanded beyond photography into the creation of long-form editorial projects that bring together images, writing, and design. Whether exploring personal subjects or collaborating with organizations, she is interested in the spaces between moments—the conversations, gestures, pauses, and relationships through which trust, vulnerability, resilience, and care become visible.
Her work is driven by a deep curiosity about the ways people experience and remember the world around them. Rather than seeking definitive answers, she creates photographs that encourage viewers to slow down, look closely, and discover meaning through observation, presence, and emotional connection.
